Head Automatica was the slightly unlikely mating of vocalist Daryl Palumbo -- he of N.Y.C. hard-core stalwarts Glassjaw -- and producer Dan the Automator (aka Dan Nakamura of Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School). Introduced by common friends, the duette began turn on their debut, aiming for a good somewhere in between the Automator's beat generation and squiggles and Palumbo's preference for john Rock and punk. When Degeneracy appeared in recent summertime 2004, its groove was just that, a bright and rubbishy shuffle of electronics and rock & drift, the tolerant of thing for which late nights were made. Palumbo and Automator place together a route band and toured the disc, hooking up with such disparate acts of the Apostles as Lostprophets, Thrice, Interpol, and the Rapture. However, Palumbo's ongoing fight with Chron's disease, which the vocalizer suffered from since childhood, continued to turn over him problems spell on the road; assorted tour of duty dates had to be canceled as he exhausted time in and out of hospitals getting handling. He continued to recidivate as work on Head Automatica's sophomore Warner Bros. campaign began (and persisted during most all of its recordings). The ring -- now comprised of Palumbo, drummer Larry Gorman (ex-Glassjaw), bassist Jarvis Morgan Holden (ex-Give Up the Ghost), guitarist Craig Bonich, and keyboardist Jessie Nelson -- aquiline up with manufacturer Howard Benson to help create an record album with a "bright, frosty good." The resulting Popaganda was issued in June 2006. It proved to be an ably named record album that, without Dan the Automator round, largely lacked the electronics of Decadency, instead self-praise a relatively more straightforward guitar heavy for the most part influenced by tardy '70s pop. A subsequent summer tour of duty was fagged opening for Taking Back Sunday aboard Angels and Airwaves and the Subways.

Change Made in Britney Visitation Status

Things are finally looking up for Britney Spears! It was just announced that there has been a change in her visitation status with her two young sons. While it has yet to be made public what exactly that change is, insiders tell OK! that the pop star went into court today to ask for once-weekly overnight visits with the boys, and it's believed she may have gotten her wish granted.

When she left the court after meeting with commissioner Scott Gordon and lawyers for her and ex-husband Kevin Federline, Brit's eyes appeared to be bloodshot, as if she'd been crying. However, when asked if she was happy, she replied, "yes," so hopefully those were tears of joy.

A rep for the court confirmed that, while it was not strictly considered as testimony, Gordon did ask Britney a number of questions during their closed-door hearing. Also speaking to the court today was Lisa Hacker, the court-appointed parenting coach for the pop star.

As for her demeanor in the courtroom today, the court spokesperson described Britney as being "very businesslike," and confirmed that there were no words of any kind exchanged between Brit and K-Fed.

It was also confirmed after the hearing that Brit's most-recent attorney, Stacy Phillips, "has exited the case," and that her one-time lawyer, Laura Wasser, has returned to represent the singer.

The next hearing date is scheduled for July 15, and the court confirms that a trial date is still tentatively set for August, though the spokesperson did say that this will continue, "for as long as it takes to resolve this case."

Amy Winehouse - Fielder-civils Assault Victim Cleared In Bribery Plot

The London pub landlord accused of teaming up with AMY WINEHOUSE's husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL to pervert the course of justice has been cleared of the charge.

Fielder-Civil is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to pub owner James King in an incident in June 2006. In a bizarre twist, the 26-year-old was then charged with teaming up with King to try to fix the outcome of that trial, by offering him a $400,000 (GBP200,000) bribe.

Fielder-Civil - who is on remand at the capital's Pentonville Prison - initially denied the charges, but entered a guilty plea to both counts at the start of his trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London earlier this month (Jun08).

King, 36, faced one count of perverting the course of justice - but was acquitted of taking the cash bribe when the jury delivered their first verdict on Wednesday (25Jun08).

Fielder-Civil's co-defendant Michael Brown, 25 has pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm, while Brown, Anthony Kelly, 25, and James Kennedy, 19, have all pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.

Winehouse's spouse, who faces up to five years behind bars for the allegations, and his remaining co-defendants are awaiting the jury's verdict and will be sentenced in due course.
